[Debate] (Fwd) Ruth First Lecture at Wits, by Dikgang Moseneke on inequality, 17 August

I only knew Ruth a little but always felt she had a more open and creative
mind than Joe. We have no way of knowing how she would have turned out in
the New South Africa had she survived. But openness and creativity are
certainly to be recorded and valued in a Left, large parts of which is
closed and dogmatic. Also, under an often closed or impatient exterior Ruth
had a warm heart.

Hoping this and much more is revealed in this commemoration. She deserves
much more than a photo in the Staff Common Room of the Sociology Department
at Wits.
