Good question, but I think that in the absence of the counterfactual, 
this is rather unfair.

Although, with Amnesty International France's head getting caught out 
for parading "rumour" as fact (kudos for BHL no?)  when the timing 
mattered, and then recanting later one when invasion is a fait 
accompli... one gets the feeling that while saving the Libyan's might 
have been a good idea, much more skepticism is required, particularly 
when wolves wear sheep's clothing...
