Patrick: The gall! Strachan: "we will see mass mobilisation by the ANC in
support of service delivery - not just in African communities but across
communities." Dexter: "I'm quite sure there will be resistance from the
people and I think justifiably so."
This is very stupid and short sighted of the ANC. Destabilizing the Western
Cape on service delivery will spill over more generally, country wide. It
will amplify the "Khutsong" effect. Besides, at the scale they, the ANC are
apparently proposing, certainly will result in a tipping point around the
figure of 10,000 service delivery protests annually. Berend

Zille under siege

ANC meets her Western Cape ascendancy with race politics and threats to
'mobilise'.
The Western Cape's defeated ANC is promising Helen Zille a rough ride as
premier of the only province not in the hands of the ruling party - but the
DA leader, who swept to power on a wave of mainly white and coloured
support, says she is ready for them.
Zille told the Sunday Times this week that she expected the ANC to try
everything possible to undermine the provincial administration she will
start building this week, just as they had done with her ruling coalition in
the City of Cape Town. <snipped>
