After the mobilisation in Astakos port that prevented the transport of
arms to Israel.....

We continue with the anti-war rally, Saturday 17/1, 2.00 pm Syntagma Sq.

The mobilisation which was organised by the local Committee of Citizens
of Astakos on Thursday 15th of January, in order to denounce the choice
of Greek government to send US arms to Israel from that place, ended
with a big succes!

More than 800 demonstrators, participated in an open rally in Astakos
town and afterwards in a demo at the harbour of Platigiali, from where
the arms should be sent. The direct charge for the Greek participation
in side of Israel and the mobilisation that did took place, despite the
hypocritical governmental rebuttals, led to a first victory. Instead of
arms, humanitarian aid from the Greek trade unions will be sent from
Astakos harbour the next days to the population of Gaza …

Stop the War Coalition participated actively in the mobilisation from
all areas of Western Greece, but also with a coach that left from
Athens. Comrades and friends from Palestine and other Arab countries
ensured that the message of the Palestinian Resistance was heard clearly
and loudly.

The next big step for the antiwar movement is the demonstration
tommorow, Saturday the 15th, called by Stop the War Coalition, all big
trade unions, Palestinian and Arab organizations, Mouslim Association of
Greece and many others.
