[these dershowitz type allegations have marginalised the conference on
racism... the EU walked out at Ahmendinajad's speech in "solidarity"
with Israel... Ahmedinajad did not do the anti-racism cause much good...
but neither did the walk out... especially since Europe insisted on a
separate clause on the Holocaust in the Review Declaration while stating
that no specific country (or people) be mentioned... moral relativism IS
dangerous. The Holocaust should never happen again - but neither should
the injustices/genocide of colonialism... it is illegal in some
countries to deny the holocaust, but France was considering legislation
compelling schools to teach 'colonialism was good' in history lessons...
the walk out was a symbol of the EU denialism of the cruelties of
colonialism and the genocides that accompanied it... it is this
shameless debasement of historical cruelty that made an impression on
the seated delegates it seems...]
