[DEBATE] : The methane time-bomb

It's the end of the world as we know it...The Independent leads with this
`The methane time bomb' story. Apparently initial findings suggest that
massive deposits of sub-sea methane are bubbling to the surface as the
Arctic region becomes warmer and the ice retreats. It is believed that the
sudden release of such gas in the past has led to a rapid rise in earth
temperature. Parasol anyone? Berend


I cannot access the sites quoted but can imagine that over the centuries,
millennia in fact lots of shit is "stored" in the ice!
