FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ADVISORY: DEPLOYMENT OF ANC LEADERSHIP TO ADDRESS VIOLENCE

ANC President Jacob Zuma will lead a contingent of senior ANC leaders
in a programme of mass work in Gauteng tomorrow (25 May 2008) as part
of a concerted campaign to stop the violence that has affected many
parts of the country.

The ANC National Executive Committee (NEC), which met on 23-24 May,
agreed on a programme of engagement with communities to stem the tide
of violence and restore stability in affected communities.

This programme will involve all levels of the organisation in a
decisive and concerted campaign to mobilise across society to address
this crisis.
