Of course liberalism is an archaic ideology but 1) it has proven capable of 
infinite renewal - most recently in a fundamentalist direction, 2) Communism 
has either a) imploded, b) adapted itself to liberalism and even 
neo-liberalism, or 3) preserved itself in nooks and crannies, whilst the 
global emancipatory movement has marginalised it.
