Dear all,
The Network Institute for Global Democratisation/Attac Finland project on
the Debt crises is continuing this year with a second phase. In the first
phase 2006-2007 we concentrated on mapping and analyzing the different
streams of proposals within civil society for solving the debt problem, and
aimed at raising discussions on ways forward in developing new global
campaigns for solving the debt problem.
In the current second phase of the project our aim is to take these
discussions forward towards a new publication which will have four themes:
repudiation as a strategy?; cancellation and conditionality;
arbitration/odious debts and how to organise lending in the future? Each
theme will be treated by articles and shorter commentaries. Following the
publication set to come out end August, we will organise a seminar in
September presenting the results and with an opportunity for further discussion.
Are you interested in contributing to this project either as a writer or
commentator? Please signal your interest to Ruby (ruby at nigd.org).
with greetings,
Ruby van der Wekken (NIGD)
