Some of you may have seen the NYT piece yesterday on "security
anthropologists" embedded with US Army units in Iraq and Afghanistan
(see link below), providing "cultural knowledge."

Att'd is a short piece by a colleague, Lesley Gill, setting the
current "debate" about culture, power, anthropology, and
counterinsurgency in historical perspective.
