Hi
Russell, thanks for this instant response, for the
confirmation that some / all of my messages did indeed appear, and
for the possible explanation of what has happened.
I have also heard from Henning Melber (off list) that he
too received my messages today - and also my September 5 message.
It is therefore a relief to know that my messages are indeed getting
through on Debate, but puzzling to understand just what is happening…
Malfunction is one possibility; but could it be that Debate / the
Debate server has a policy that it automatically does not send a copy
to the person who posts ? Unlike most (all ?) other lists, that do ?
(But in which case, why ? It is surely useful to have a record of
all postings on a list, including one’s own. So could I request /
propose a change in this policy ?)
If it is a malfunction though, Patrick could you please look into this.
In any case, if my not seeing my messages is only a function of
technical issues, then.. apologies to everyone, and especially to
Patrick, for all my frothing this afternoon - which was however,
purely a function of misunderstanding (and frustration). But to
avoid such things, it would be good if Patrick, you could attend to
these possibly technical issues. Thanks.
