LAST call for nominations
for the “Public Eye Awards 2007” at Davos
Dear colleagues
If you haven’t had time yet to nominate your companies you can still do
so until Wednesday next week. If you need a few days more please let us
know a.s.a.p!
With the conferring of the “Public Eye Awards” in 2006, the tradition
continues. Once again the Berne Declaration and Pro Natura - Friends of
the Earth Switzerland effectively reminded corporate bosses at the World
Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos of their social and ecological
responsibilities. As in the past, our “awards of disrepute” attracted
considerable media attention and provoked corresponding reactions from
the award-winning corporations. These facts demonstrate that the issue
of corporate accountability continues to gain in importance on the
public agenda.
And here we go again: With the “Public Eye Awards 2007,” we pick up
where they left off and hereby invite you to participate in the primary
anti-WEF event. This time we are looking for
1. Corporations that act (or have recently acted) in a particularly
irresponsible manner, socially and/or ecologically, in the categories
- “GLOBAL PLAYERS” (including WEF corporate members)
- “SWISS COMPANIES” (from transnational corporations down to small- and
medium-size firms)
2. Corporations displaying particularly responsible behavior, fitting of
a role model, for the
- “POSITIVE AWARD”
PARTICIPATE AND WIN!
Minimal investment, maximum yield: Convince us on an A4 page, brief and
to the point, why the corporation you nominate deserves which “Public
Eye Award”. In return, we offer you the prospect of international media
attention for your organization and your cause.

WHAT HAPPENS THEN?
The organizers will review all received proposals and present them to a
jury. (For other details, including the composition of the jury, see
www.publiceye.ch.) The jury will then produce a shortlist consisting of
three outstanding cases from each of the three categories. If your
nominee makes the shortlist, we will contact you in mid-October to
assemble a more detailed dossier together. Based on those dossiers, the
jury will select the prizewinners in mid-November. They will be
“honored” in the setting of a prominently-attended awards ceremony in Davos.
All nine short-listed nominees will be presented at an international
press conference in mid-January 2007 and announced simultaneously on
www.publiceye.ch. If your nominee wins one of the three awards, you will
join us on 24 January 2007 in Davos as a presenter at the WEF
counter-event, at our expense.
Therefore colleagues on your marks... get set ... go Davos!
Many thanks for your participation and for spreading the word.
With best regards,
