FREE ZIM YOUTH is calling on Zimbabweans and Human Rights Defenders to
put pressure on the South African Government to condemn the continuing
injustice and misrule in Zimbabwe
We Young Zimbabweans feel betrayed by President Mbeki's quiet diplomacy
while we suffer at the hands of
Mugabe’s regime. The world has witnessed again how Zimbabwe Congress of
Trade Unions and civic leaders have been brutalized while peacefully
demonstrating for fair wages and basic rights.
South Africa has blocked calls for the UN to probe human rights abuses
in Zimbabwe and has endorsed Zimbabwe’s elections in spite of violent
intimidation. Mbeki knows that the Zimbabwe government violates SADC and
AU democratic principles and by remaining silent he endorses this violation.
We wish to salute South African civic organizations that condemn abuses
in Zimbabwe and stand in solidarity with ordinary Zimbabweans.
The Zimbabwean people supported South Africans in the fight against
Apartheid and now its time for South Africa to support Zimbabweans in
the fight against Mugabe's tyranny.
During the fight against apartheid, the ANC called for International
solidarity to help topple the white minority regime. Now Zimbabweans ask
for International solidarity the ANC government of South Africa turns a
blind eye, Shame on Mbeki.
