YCL CALLS ON THE SABC CHIEF GROUP TO MAKE REPORT PUBLIC

We call upon the Chief Group Executive of SABC, Adv. Dali Mpofu, to make the
report on the censorship of political journalist by the SABC public.

As the YCL we strongly believe that the public has a right to know the
findings of the report for their own judgment on the merits and demerits of
the report. As a public broadcaster the SABC has a mandatory obligation to
cascade this information to the public.

This report has to be made public given the credibility crisis that the SABC
News has in the eyes of a majority of South Africans. It is our view that
the SABC News has been bias in its reporting to favour certain factions in
the ANC, and the censoring of certain journalists and analysts is part and
parcel of the broader agenda in the usage of the SABC to further political
battles within the liberation movement.
