  The ICFTU, together with the WCL, ETUC, Solidar, Social Alert and the Global Progressive Forum,  is planning the public launch of a joint "Decent Work, Decent Life" campaign at the WSF. We would like to see one of the key themes of the WSF as a whole be decent work, a banner under which we hope to organise a number of activites (any ideas are welcome) and to bring together all forces engaged in struggling for decent work in order to strategise and exchange ideas.

  Currently, the WSF organisers are undertaking a public consultation regarding what the topics of the 2007 WSF will be. The consultation expressly asks participants to list actions, campaigns and struggles in which organisations / networks / entities participating in the WSF process are engaged in so as to ensure a more action-oriented discussion. The consultation is currently on-line, and any organisation that has registered at a previous WSF or that is intending to register has the right to fill in the consultation form. 

  We are writing to urge those intending to attend the forum to fill in the consultation form and ask for decent work to be one of the themes. You will find attached a pre-filled consultation form with information about the decent work campaign that you can use as a model when filling in the questionnaire. Please also forward this email to other networks/contacts that you know are engaged in the World Social Forum process. The deadline to send your answers to the consultation is July 30th 2006. The form, and information on how to fill it in can be found at http://consultation.wsf2007.org/.

  It would also be helpful to know which of you are planning to attend the Forum, so as to be able to coordinate our plans. If you have any information on this question, we would appreciate receiving it.

  Vous le savez peut-être, le prochain Forum social mondial se tiendra du 20 au 25 janvier 2007 inclus à Nairobi, au Kenya. A la différence du FSM 2006 organisé sous forme de plusieurs conférences « polycentriques », le Forum social mondial 2007 se déroulera sous forme d'un événement mondial unique. 

  A l'occasion du FSM 2007, la CISL prévoit le lancement d'une campagne conjointe intitulée « Un travail décent pour une vie décente », qu'elle entend mener en collaboration avec la CMT, la CES, Solidar, Social Alert et le Forum progressiste mondial. Nous souhaiterions voir le travail décent adopté comme l'un des thèmes centraux du FSM de cette année, thème autour duquel nous espérons mobiliser un programme d'activités exhaustif (toutes suggestions sont bienvenues) et rallier toutes les forces engagées dans la lutte pour le travail décent afin de dégager de nouvelles stratégies d'action et permettre un échange d'idées large. 

  Les organisateurs du FSM mènent actuellement une consultation publique sur le choix des thèmes du FSM 2007. Dans le cadre de cette consultation, les participants sont invités à décrire les actions, campagnes ou luttes dans lesquelles se trouvent engagés les organisations/réseaux/entités participant au processus du FSM. Cette approche a été choisie de sorte à permettre une discussion centrée sur l'action avant tout. La consultation se déroule actuellement en ligne. Ont le droit de remplir le formulaire de consultation toutes organisations inscrites à un FSM antérieur ou qui prévoient de s'inscrire au prochain Forum Social Mondial. 

  Par la présente, nous invitons les organisations prévoyant de participer au Forum à compléter la fiche de consultation et de demander l'inclusion du travail décent comme l'un des thèmes du FSM 2007. Vous êtes priés de trouver ci-joint pour votre information une fiche de consultation pré-complétée au moyen d'informations concernant la campagne pour le travail décent ; nous vous invitons à vous servir de ce document comme modèle pour répondre au questionnaire. Nous vous saurions gré de bien vouloir faire suivre ce courriel à d'autres réseaux /contacts engagés dans le processus du Forum Social Mondial. La date limite pour renvoyer votre fiche de consultation dûment complétée est fixée au 30 juillet 2006.   Il nous serait également utile d'obtenir de vous les noms des personnes qui assisteront au Forum afin de permettre une coordination aussi efficace que possible de notre programme d'action. Nous vous invitons à nous communiquer tous renseignements utiles dont vous disposeriez à ce sujet.
