NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS OF STAFF
Industrial Relations implications of going on strike


This notice serves to inform all University staff who participate in the forthcoming strike,  that the University shall apply the rule of no-work-no-pay . This shall also apply to those members of staff who partially participate in the strike, by rendering partial performance of their contracts of employment.  This means that in the case of both, these members of staff shall receive no remuneration (including benefits) for the duration of the strike.


Your attention is also drawn to the Collective Agreement on Picketing, that is applicable to members of staff who participate in the strike.  Union representatives are in possession of a copy of this agreement, and you are advised to refer to the representatives on the rules applicable to participation in a picket.  A breach of these rules will not be tolerated, and will incur liability.


If you participate in a picket, you are advised to follow the guidance and instructions of the Picket Marshall appointed by your Union to monitor the picket.  The Picket Marshall shall be clearly identifiable by the wearing of the necessary armband.
