Immanuel Wallerstein (Yale) will speaking on 'Curve of American Power'
at the UJ Sociology Seminar this Friday (4 August). The meeting, which
begins at 16.00, will be in the Department of Anthropology Seminar Room
(D506). 

Prof. Wallerstein's books include his seminal Modern World System and
the recent Decline of American Power. He was President of the
International Sociological Association (1994-98). His presentation is
especially relevant in the context of the US occupation of Iraq and the
invasion of Lebanon.

Those coming from outside UJ Kingsway Campus are advised to enter the
campus through Gate 2 on Ditton Avenue and to park in Car Park B. They
may find it helpful to show this invitation to the guard on duty.
