[AU-Monitor] Latest update on the CSO Pre-Summit and the Women Pre-Summit Meetings

Latest update on the CSO Pre-Summit and the Women Pre-Summit Meetings:


1-    CSO Pre-summit
The  reason the Commission were not willing to organize a CSO meeting  
in addis  seems  to  be  purely  financial.  We have learnt from a  
reliable source  that  the Danish Government has just offered to help  
financially for  the  CSO  pre-meeting  therefore  there  is  a  
chance to have it. A tentative  date  (17,  18  January)  has been  
suggested but likely to be pushed  to  20,  21  for  lack of  
preparation. We will have confirmation this week when Dr. Adisa  
resumes work.

2-    Women pre- summit

The  Gender  Directorate still no planning anything because of lack  
of staff  but  we have learn that Femmes Africa Solidarité a Senegal  
based NGO will  be organizing a pre-summit around 23, 24 (to be  
confirmed). They have submitted a proposal the Gender directorate  
that seems to agreed on it. ( I have received a confidential copy of
