[AU-Monitor] Countdown Calendar: AU and CSO Activity in the Union Government Debate

Dear Hakima,
   
  Thanks very much for the useful information and calendar you provide on CSO preparation and activities for the AU summit.
  I know GCAP Africa is already involved in the whole preparations for the summit to ensure CSO voices and inputs on the proposal for Continental Government through GCAP Ghana being member of the steering committee set up after the “TEACH-IN WORKSHOP ON THE AFRICAN UNION:  UNDERSTANDING THE AFRICAN UNION AND SEIZING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHANGE” in Ghana. However, we will still be interested to find space to discuss among CSO and then engage Heads of States on privatization issues. GCAP Africa has just awarded a film titled BAMAKO in the last FESPACO. BAMAKO stages a African trial of  the World Bank and IMF.  We would like to organize free screening of this movie and invite students and other groups followed by discussions. Coudl we find a space in the calendar to do that. Then we will manage for logistics with our GCAA Ghana colleagues.

  In advance of the June African Union Summit in Accra, Ghana, the AU-Monitor has uploaded a draft calendar of African Union and CSO activities and events related to the debate on the Continental Government.  The debate is set to be the single issue on the formal agenda of the African Union proceedings in Ghana.  This calendar is meant to provide updated information to African civil society organisations that will enable them to stay abreast of events, activities and advocacy opportunities.  Please send additions or comments for the calendar to hakima at fahamu.org and check the AU-Monitor regularly for new entries, information and analysis.
